Leading change

Change Your World

Work with others to turn shared values into positive change.

By John C. Maxwell

What this programme helps you work on.

Shared concerns can lead to repeated discussion without coordinated action. Change Your World explores how people work together around values and practical improvement. Participants identify an issue within their influence, consider the behaviour needed and agree how to recognise progress.

Who it suits

Teams and community groups pursuing shared improvement.

The focus

Values, collaboration, transformation tables and measuring progress.

Inside the programme

What you’ll explore.

These themes guide the learning. The depth and selection depend on the format and the needs you bring.

Start with an issue you can influence

Identify a team or community concern and distinguish what the group can act on from what it cannot control.

Connect values with behaviour

Describe how a shared value would show up in everyday choices, relationships and responsibilities.

Learn through group conversation

Explore transformation-table discussion as a way to reflect, listen and make personal commitments alongside others.

Act and review progress

Agree a practical step and an observable sign of improvement so the group can learn from what happens.

From ideas to action

Put it into practice.

Agree a shared issue, an action and a way to review what changes.

An example to work through

A team wants greater reliability. Identify one recurring missed commitment, discuss the value behind keeping it and agree a small change that each person can practise and report back on.

This is an example of local application. We adapt the discussion to your situation and agreed scope.

Your practical takeaways

What you’ll work towards.

  • A shared issue with a realistic area of influence.
  • A value translated into practical behaviour.
  • An action and a measure the group can review together.

The learning experience

How it works.

Facilitated learning combines explanation, discussion and reflection on participants’ own situations. Where the agreed format allows, you practise an application and decide what to try at work. Scope, duration and any follow-up are agreed around the group’s needs.
