Your first three months
Your one private coaching hour is available every month, regardless of your place in the group case rotation. Use it for the leadership issue your business is facing now, then draw on the group’s study and discussions as you put your next step into practice.
An example: too many decisions keep coming back to you. This illustrates how you could use membership; it is not a fixed syllabus or a guaranteed result.
Use coaching to examine a recurring decision and who could own it. Apply the group’s study to set clear limits and agree one practical step with that person.
Bring what happened to coaching: where did the person act independently, and where did they need help? Adjust the support and try again, drawing on relevant lessons from the group.
Review your notes and examples. Identify what to continue, what to change and the next responsibility the person could take on.
A dedicated group case slot is not guaranteed in your first three months. At two cases per meeting, a full rotation takes about six months with 12 members, or seven to eight months with 15.
Each member may request one Urgent Action Session per year for an emergency or urgent business issue, lasting up to four hours. Soo Hoo convenes available group members within three working days of the request, subject to a maximum of two Urgent Action Sessions per group per month. Once that monthly limit is reached, no further urgent sessions are accepted for that group that month.
Contact Soo Hoo directly to request a session outside the regular case rotation. Available members contribute; attendance by the entire group is not required.

Who the group is for
Owners of businesses that meet SME Corp Malaysia’s definition of an SME.
Employees in senior roles who lead teams and carry responsibility for decisions and results.
High Potential & Aspiring Leaders in middle management may register interest for a separate future group. Its launch depends on demand.
We assess actual leadership responsibilities when placing members. Each group accepts one member per specific business category, with no direct competitors and no manager paired with their direct report. We target 12 members, with a maximum of 15.
These are the placement criteria for the founding group, not a claim about members already enrolled. Soo Hoo discusses your role, business category and leadership challenge before recommending group placement. Before you commit or pay, he will explain how the one-member-per-category rule applies to your business and check for direct-competitor conflicts. When proposed placements are available, he will share an anonymised group profile so you can assess the fit.
Every four-hour meeting
First 2 hours · Fixed module
Work through the scheduled module during the session, discuss the guide’s questions and connect the principles to your leadership.
Next 2 hours · Two member cases
Explore two member cases per meeting on a published rotation, with everyone contributing. Clarify each problem, consider options and identify a practical next step.
The two member cases share the second two-hour block. This local facilitation format accompanies John C. Maxwell’s content.

Maxwell study programmes
Members choose one programme together, then work through its content and guide during the sessions. Developing the Leaders Around You is our first suggestion for owners developing team leaders. The Leader’s Greatest Return helps owners prepare future leaders and successors.
Our first pick for SME owners: develop people who can take responsibility and lead others.
Between meetings: Build a development plan for one potential team leader, try it between meetings and review their progress.
Build a shared foundation for influence, trust and empowerment across the business.

Strengthen your own priorities, character and discipline before expecting more from your team.

Help owners and managers make their message understood across teams and customers.
Between meetings: Practise a real conversation between meetings and reflect on the response.
Create a repeatable habit of learning, reflection and action that supports every other programme.
Between meetings: Choose a growth goal, schedule practice and bring evidence of progress to the group.
Prepare future leaders and successors by making their development a deliberate investment.

Turn leadership experience into practical lessons for the way you lead and develop your team.
Between meetings: Reflect on a past leadership decision, choose one practice to change and discuss the results with the group.
These are study options within the membership, not separate announced cohorts. You register interest in membership; you do not need to choose a book now.
Your commitment
The minimum initial term is three months. The three-month notice period gives members time to get to know one another and demonstrate their commitment through continued participation.
You may give three months’ written cancellation notice at any time, including during the initial term. Membership ends on the later of the initial term’s end or the end of your notice period. Fees and access continue until then; membership does not end automatically after the initial term.
Examples: give notice when you start and membership can end after three months. Give notice one month after starting and it ends four months after starting. If you give notice only after completing month three, membership and fees continue through month six.
